From First Breath to Last

From a memory of my dad holding me as a baby in his palm, I reflected on when my dad felt like my whole world. Inspired by the line "Father gave birth to me, and Mother raised me" from *Myeongsimbogam*, this work expresses the father's love that upholds the baby's first moments. On the other hand, Michelangelo’s *Pietà* depicts the end of life cradled in a mother’s arms. These two contrasting scenes demonstrate that love and embrace are present at both the beginning and the end of life.
